Xiaomi buys almost 3% of Kingsoft
Xiaomi is said to be entering the gaming scene very soon, a rumor that may have been backed up by the company’s latest announcement. In an effort to venture into stronger software projects, Xiaomi has invested in a company named Kingsoft, well known for developing PC games.
Xiaomi purchased 2.98% of said company for HK $527, which is equivalent to about $68 million USD. Kingsoft also has a strong background in security, entertainment and enterprise, which could also help Xiaomi expand its focus into more than gaming.
