How to Fix iPhone Cannot Connect to App Store?

Are you having trouble connecting to the App store? This can be a problem especially when you need to update or download an app. And considering how important it is to update an app, if you want optimum function, having no access to the App store can really slow down some of your apps and hence slow you down.

But what do you do when you can’t access the App Store? In this article we look at some of the most effective solutions to this problem.
1. Check If the App Store is Down

Sometimes it can be that the Apple servers and particularly the App Store is down. In this case, you are not the only one who cannot access the App Store.

The easiest way to check is to go to the Apple’s System Status Page that details the problems Apple’s services may be facing at any given time. The App Store is first on the list and if it is green, it means it is available and working. Of course, it may take some time for the system to notice a recent outage so wait a few minutes before refreshing the page.

If the system is down, there is not much you can do about it other than wait for Apple to fix the problem.

2. Turn on Cellular/Mobile Data from App Store

It is also likely that the main reason you are able to connect to the App Store is because you may have disallowed App Store to access your cellular data. Fortunately, this can be easily fixed, just follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Launch the Settings app on your device and then tap on “Cellular/Mobile.”

Step 2: Scroll down to find “App Store” and then turn on the toggle switch.

Step 3: Now reboot your device and then try connecting to the App Store.

3. Set Date and Time Automatically

Another way to solve this problem, is to set the data and time automatically. The following is how you can do it.

Step 1: On your device, open the settings app and then tap on “General.”

Step 2: Tap on “Date & Time” from the options presented.

Step 3: Find “Set Automatically” and then turn it on of it is set to off.

4. Force-Refresh the App Store

Force refreshing the App Store could also work to fix this problem. You can easily force refresh the app store by tapping several times on the App Store navigation bar that is located at the bottom of the screen. If the action works, you should see the app go blank and then display a notification letting you know that is it “loading.”

5. Reset Your Network Settings

Because it could be a connectivity issue that is preventing you from connecting with the Apple Store, it might be a good idea to reset the network settings. This will flush out any bugs that may be preventing your iPhone from connecting to the App store.

To do that go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Once the network has been reset, you should have no problems connecting to the App store.
